First, remember that Milano is 9 hours ahead of Seattle. If it’s 9:00 in the morning in Seattle, it’s 6:00 in the evening in Milano. And since I’m usually up until midnight, that’s 3:00 in the afternoon in Seattle. So the hours between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Seattle time, are when our schedules will most overlap.

This local Seattle number will forward to my “Skype-In” number and find me anywhere in the world. If I’m at my computer, I’ll just click a button and say “hello” to you (or “ciao!”). If I’m not at my computer, you can leave a voicemail and Skype will send me an e-mail saying that you’ve left a message. You don’t have to learn a new number and you don’t pay any international long distance charges. Sweet!

I’ve bought an Italian cell phone and will give you that number if you get in touch with me by e-mail. When you absolutely, positively have to get in touch with me RIGHT NOW, whether I’m online or not, this will be the number to dial. It will reach me direct; no shuffling through Skype. (International rates will apply.)

Want to chat “in person”, have a little video conference or show me something while we’re talking? With Skype software and a cheap webcam, we can be talking in no time and SEE each other while we chat! Skype is easy to install and use, and it’s free Skype-to-Skype (both of us talking through our computers). The sound quality is better than through the phone, too.

Go to their web site, click “download”, then “download now”. (All the other options they offer are more advanced and there IF you need them, so just disregard them for now.) You pick a “Skype name” and password and Skype will check to see if it’s already taken. Bingo! Skype me!

What’s the difference? There is none. Both addresses come to the same place. It’s just that “Kunstdame” is so hard to spell and to remember that I came up with an alternate domain name: it’s a color and a shape. Simple.
