Buffalo Industries

Client Description:

Since 1929, Buffalo has been selling recycled and new rags and wipers, cleaning cloths and towels, sundries, protective clothing, sorbents and spill kits.

They’ve been a client of mine for 30 years, and in that time I have designed every bag, box, pallet, sign, catalog, sell sheet, business card and trade show booth that has gone out their door.

I work with Buffalo from initial product development, through packaging, production and promotion, including copywriting and photography.

Certain aspects of the products and packaging are handled by international vendors; I work with these vendors on artwork, production specs and quality control to maintain Buffalo’s product and graphic standards.

Buffalo also relies on me to create the private-label packaging for their customers.

Bob Books is a true first reader series, designed to make helping children learn to read simple and straightforward. The clean layout, short words, and simple phonics make learning to read a fun and natural step for a child that knows the alphabet.

For close to 30 years, I have worked with the writers and illustrators of Bob Books toward the design and implementation of the “Bob Books Look”.

Paper Basketry and Pottery Models

Paper Basketry and Pottery Models

Paper Models of
Northwest Coast Basketry and Southwest Pueblo Pottery

Description:

For centuries, North American Native women have fashioned vessels of root, grass, bark and mud gathered from the land surrounding their communities.

Inspired by the function and beauty of these vessels, I created Northwest Coast Basketry Paper Models and Southwest Pueblo Pottery Pottery Paper Models.

Held in the palm of the hand, each model sparks a deeper interest in the art forms and culture that are part of North America’s history and heritage. I consulted with Native elders, basket weavers, potters, museum curators and anthropologists to create these educational, timeless and beautiful three-dimensional models. They are enjoyed by children and adults, ages 9 – 90.
